We always recommend bringing your lights with you in your carry-on luggage. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will allow individual lights under 100 watts to be checked or carried on. This includes all Sola lights. Different security agencies have been known to disassemble our lights and there is no guarantee they will be re-assembled correctly. This of course would be unnecessary since our lights are a factory sealed, battery integrated product. If you run into this issue, its a good point to make before they start pulling things apart.To keep your lights from accidental discharge, use both the Travel Lock-out Mode feature as well as the Slider Switch Lock-out. This ensures safe travels and prevents any frustration come the first dive of the day. The lights also have a thermal rollback feature to prevent them from causing substantial damage if you forget to place them in lockout and they happen to be bumped on.It&apos;s also not a bad idea to get in the habit of locking your lights after your dives before the car ride home.Travel Lock-out ModeMost Light &amp; Motion lights are equipped with a travel feature that will prevent the light from inadvertently turning on should the power button or switch be engaged while the light is in your pocket or backpack/suitcase. This feature is called Travel Lock-out Mode and is standard on all Sola models.&#xA0;These will have a Lock icon on the slider switch. While the light is off, hold the switch forward for 5-8 seconds until the dashboard LEDs begin flashing red. Trying to turn the light on after this will result in the lights flashing red but the light not turning on. <h2 id="what-is-it">What is it?</h2>A convenient way to electronically lock your light when it&apos;s not in use or traveling.&#xA0;You may be experiencing Travel Lock-out Mode if:&#xA0;The light will charge normally, but when you try to turn it on&#xA0;the indicator lights blink red a few times.&#xA0;You will notice that on older Sola models the LED indicator light will blink red 5 times.On our current Sola models the LED indicator will blink red 3 times.How is it useful?Accidents happen. Whether you are commuting to your local dive spot or getting on a plane to your favorite vacation destination, Travel Lock-out Mode ensures that your light won&apos;t turn on and drain out if the switch is bumped before your next dive!<figure><img src="https://hsfiles.gorgias.help/help-centers/9182/articles/h5xovkvg4n/1603919342229/dive-1200-1-2.jpg"></figure>How to use it: Sola (except Sola Photo and some older models): To put your light in the Travel Lock-out Mode, slide and hold&#xA0;the switch forward&#xA0;for 5-7 seconds. The indicator light should start flashing red, then release the switch into the neutral position. Your light will now be locked and moving the power slider will not affect the power. The indicator lights will flash red a few times if you try to turn the light on.To take it out of lock-out mode, slide and hold&#xA0;the switch forward&#xA0;for 5-7 seconds. When the indicator light flashes green a few times, return the switch to the neutral position. Your light will now function again.You can also rotate the switch 90 degrees to lock the slider switch so that it cannot slide forward or backward. It is recommended to do both.Sola Pro 8000, 9600, 12,000 and 15,000: There is dial above your switch that allows the light to be turned on and off. If the fin of the dial is parallel to the switch, the light is on and able to function. You will notice that the OLED screen will be on. When the dial is turned and the fin is perpendicular to the switch, the light will turn off and effectively be in Travel Lock-out Mode.**The light must be in the on position to charge.Sola 4000: This light also has a dial&#xA0;with a coin slot that electrically disconnects the battery from the circuit to ensure safe travel.&#xA0;There are two positions: the slot is either lined up with the diver symbol or the airplane. The dial moves easily in a 90 degree pattern and should never be over rotated. Gently spin the dial and if it ever feels like it wont move any further, try the other direction. Over rotation will damage the light.&#xA0;&#xA0;

What is it?
A way to lock your light so that it will not accidentally turn on in your bag or while in transit. Older Gobe&apos;s will have a dial that can be turned by anything with a narrow flat edge like a coin. Newer Gobe&apos;s have done away with the rear dial and requires a different procedure.
2017-2018 GoBe is of the newer &quot;S&quot; generation, simply press and hold the power button for&#xA0;about 5 seconds or until the indicator LED on the body begins flashing red. Let go of the power button when the light begins flashing red. To get out of the lock mode simple press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds or until the indicator LED on the body begins flashing green.
Why it&#x2019;s convenient:
It prevents you from arriving to your destination with a dead battery!
How to use it: 
On the back of of your GoBe there is a small dial that puts the light in Lock and UnLock Mode. The dial will point to the mode the light is currently in.

Using your fingernail or a coin to gently turn the dial to the unlock position to get your GoBe working again.

Travel Lock-out Mode - GoBe

This may be because of your light being in Travel Lockout Mode.
There are two ways to enter and exit Travel Lock-out Mode for your Gobe.
To enter travel lockout mode, push and hold the power button down for about 5-6 seconds, or until you see the lig

There are two ways to enter and exit Travel Lock-out Mode for your Gobe.
To enter travel lockout mode, push and hold the power button down for about 5-6 seconds, or until you see the light head momentarily turn on, then off, followed but a red flashing indicator light. Your light should now be locked and unable to turn on in case you place it in a bag and don&#x2019;t want it to power up, draining your battery.
The second way you can do this is while the light is on.&#xA0; From here, simply push and hold the power button down for about 5-6 seconds. The Light will power down and indicator light will flash red.

To exit travel lockout mode you will follow the same steps as you did to enter it. Hold the power button down for 5-6 seconds until the indication light flashes green, from there you will be able to turn the light on as normal. The Gobe S can also be unlocked by plugging it in to its charger.
